Why Appalachian Escape?
Appalachian Escape is not a company owned rental business, but rather a family owned 2nd home where we eventually plan to retire to. We have meticulously restored Appalachian Escape, blending traditional elements with the conveniences and amenities that we all have come to expect. We have also built or restored many of the furniture pieces in the cabin, adding our unique personal touch. Compare Appalachian Escape to other cabins of similar size and you will see that you simply get more value and better quality with us!
We looked far and wide, but could not find a place that had just the right feel to it. We prefer seclusion and privacy, while many cabins are located in the ‘resorts’ where privacy is in short supply, and where all cabins look alike and cookie cutter. When we found 'Appalachian Escape', there was no mistaking we had found what we were searching for! We originally fell in love with cabin's secluded property and the peaceful feel it exuded. The cabin itself was another story - the previous owners have erected the shell, but have never completed the inside. There were no interior walls, no flooring, no power and only rudimentary plumbing. After purchasing the cabin in 2013, it took us over a year to renovate and install EVERYTHING in the cabin: walls, new hardwood floors, doors, trim, stairs, insulation, HVAC, furniture, appliances, lighting, cabinetry... It was a lot of work, but the end results is a fantastic, top-of-the-line mountain cabin that your family and friends will love to come home to and won't ever want to leave!! This is anything but a cookie cutter log home! Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have lots to do, from hiking, to white water rafting, to fine dining and live shows, to horseback riding and Go-Karts. We know that this area can entertain virtually any family for years to come...
